Broadcom minipci wireless

6 posts in this topic

While search for information about putting my broadcom into monitor mode (for obvious reasons) I came across some information on a new driver. Here is the site with the all the information needed. Has anyone had success with this new driver, or even heard of it. Post any results you may have please. I'm sure it could help a lot of people, including myself. I will post my own results when I have finished configurations.

I've not heard of that but have you tried http://bcm43xx.berlios.de site?

I have the wireless working perfectly...but, without the Monitoring function. I've heard that this driver allows broadcom users to enable monitoring mode. Back to the drawing board, I suppose.

I recently installed Ubuntu on my laptop and tried out the driver. It doesn't give anywhere near the performance the card is capable of. I opted to go with the ndiswrapper option which worked out much better.

On my broadcom 4306 I was able to get it into monitor mode after running a kernel patch from http://aircrack-ng.org

Ubuntu users:

Ubuntu has multiple places for drivers so you may need to patch the code in multiple places(cant remember off-hand, had to do it almost a year ago).
