getting some feedback from nmap

4 posts in this topic

Whenever I run a scan, it takes forever. In fact, I can't tell if nmap has frozen or if it is working: even with -vv enabled.

The two scans I currently am trying to run are not that intesnsive... one is of a list of 18 ips.

I asked for -a, and specified that the scan use fast mode (-f) and scan VERY fast (-T5), and skipping host discovery (-P0)

The other is a simple list scan of the 192.168.*.* internal ips, also at t5, also it is running extra verbose (-vv)

If there would be a way to get nmap do give some feedback as it works, or an estimate of the length of a scan, I'd like to know. I can be patient, I can wait a long time, but I need to know what a reasonable expectation is.

Tried the -d <debuglevel> command? Will give you more than very-verbose.
