09/04/2006 Binrev Mentorship Program
In an effort to facility the free flow of information, Binrev has established
a mentorship program where people with different skillsets can share their
knowledge. When learning something completely new, it is sometimes hard to
know where to start and how to proceed. We will provide you will a mentor to
help you pursue this knowledge.
Keep in mind your mentor is not your babysitter. Their job is to tell you what
to learn, guide your efforts, and ultimately answer questions you may have
when you cannot find the answer on your own. Mentors should only spend about
1-2 hours per week with their mentees. In addition, we ask that both mentors
and mentee write a short progress report once every week or two with a
description of what both people have done since the last update. The reason we
we ask for this is to ensure that no one's time is being wasted.
You can request to be mentored in any area you want, but subject to the
availability of a mentor with that knowledge. Mentorships will go on
indefinitely until the pair decides to stop. In the future, we will create
events (read competitions) for mentor-mentee pairs. There are a couple of
projects in the works, so please stay tuned.
If you are interested in becoming
a mentee, please send mail to mentorship [at] binrev [dot] com. List everything
that you want to learn and the amount of time you have per week to pursue
this endeavor. We will match you up with someone as soon as possible.
On the other hand, if you would
like to offer your services as a mentor, please also send mail to mentorship
[at] binrev [dot] com. List the subjects you would like to be a mentor in.
Please make sure you can commit to the aforementioned time requirements.
