That is a little vague. It says to login? you need a user/pass to login. Then to reset, All I know is the reset key...

Why not post the text here and lets see if we can interpret it. We need more information.

well, if it is Windows XP, then I assume they mean you have to access it with remote desktop, which allows you to log in as though you were right there. It could also refer to telnet, or any other means of access. Those are the most likely, however.

connect to the machine using one of those two methods and try your user/pass there.

i actully heard this from a buddy of mine but i never tryed it. I guess mircoshaft has a backdoor for windows xp when you get to the login screen/page press f8 and it will bypass there passcode and log you in as admin. like i said i'm not sure if this works or not but i guess i'll reboot this box and find out.....

i'll be editing this post to let everyone know.

It sounds like a privelege escalation exploit, meaning that you have to have access to the machine to subsequently crack another user's password. Best guess without the text you referrenced.

Login in yada yada yada and copy the file getadmin to the machine!

the start the program and now you can see you have administrator privilages??

For a local expliot to work you must first be local.. do you happen to have a copy of the passage from the textfile you are asking about?

I think I understand... a lot of text tell you what to do AFTER you are in a system. They could be escalation hax, cracks, trojans, whatever... I think he is asking how to get in, in the first place.

Every system is different. If telnet is not open, try FTP, see if there are any vulnerabilities to it. Remote desktop? trojan? That is why most texts skip that part, because there is no "magic bullet" that works to get you in.

hmm...but there are always those idiots who have the user account "administrator" without any password...nothing that a little scanning for NT/SQL pass wont take care of :)

...and even if you get just a user/guest account, there is a exe and a dll file you can copy to their computer through telnet, terminal services, etc that will grab the .sam file (which is a list of users/encoded passwords) and bruteforce hack the passwords and then you are home free.

Just do a little google searching...amazing what you can do :)
