Beige Boxing...

7 posts in this topic

Ok, so I'm reading all this stuff about beige boxing and some articles explain some stuff differently than others. I opened up this box on the side of a (uh..my) house and there were like these four screw lookin things

Kind like that, and there were some white colored wires in there too. Is this what I'm lookin for?

there should be at least a green and a red wires in that box... if not then you need another box. they are usally kindda gray with a screw that holds it shut. another way that it might look is that it has your phone connection with a rj- something or other plugged in and then to the four screws that you had explained.

Sounds like you have an older 4-post protector outside your house, in lieu of a TNI - Telephone Network Interface. The wires may not be red and green. Just take the alligator clips from your beige box and touch them to the posts until you get dial tone (feel free to check the voltage with a DMM if you're uncomfortable).

yeah.... makes me wonder.... those 2 pictures where from a project i did a while ago. Back when i ran a site called '31337 phreaking' I think we named it The newbies guide to begie boxing. i'll have to look for the stuff to get it back online. but yeah hopefully i'll be able to take more pictures soon.

Red is ring, Green is tip.. love the coloring for the wires in the pics ;)

Ya ic0n you should get all the data from the LPH zine and see whats up.. no use reinventing the wheel.
