Apparently everyone is talking on dalnet now, which won't allow me to connect.

Sorry, but so far dalnet = suck

Dalnet hasn't been the same since the DoS attacks, the servers are constantly splitting. Bad move :/

I havent had the first problem with dal.net so far nor have any of the people that have been testing it with us. I think you guys may be exaggerating teh problems.

PF: What exactly happens when you try to connect? What client are you using? Any random DAL.net server should work fine, did you try some others? Error messages?

Also, people are welcome to keep the esper.net channel alive also! Hell, I think that is great! It is just that most of us will be over in DAL.NET "officially". They can both co-exist! :)

Pretty much the same thing happens that regicide is experiencing. I get "operation timed out" and it retries. I'm using ircii and BitchX alternatively on the command line in OS X, as well as a GUI-based client called Conversation when I'm feeling lazy. When none of that worked I went to my silenceisdefeat shell and tried from their BitchX install and it didn't work either. I have no problems connecting to efnet, freenode, esper.net etc. I tried irc.dal.net, irc.dalnet.org, and broadway.ny.something.something... After that I gave up. :)

I'll give jade.va.us.dal.net a shot when I get a chance later.

I have'nt had any problems connecting to dal... now what are you using to connect to dal? a random dal server? there's a few that won't allow you to connect. I'll find a few servers that ive never had problems with.

I have had extreme troubles connecting to dal for like over a year now, I just figued it went all ghost town. Efnet is where it's at, or zIRC in my opinion.

Finally made it into the channel after trying several times since last night. I still don't know why I was having trouble... Go figure.

dalnet changes servers more than I chagne clothes, they have horrible problems with DDoS and companies bailing on them. Mesra.dal.net usually works, and irc.dal.net almost never works.
