I'd post some pics but I'm too lazy to take them..not to mention my boxes are spread all over, in different rooms even. Also this should probably be in off topic

I picked one up for $20 last year :-D Good Battery as well. Don't underestimate salvage places.

Photo #1 seems to be messed up. I only pull down about 50% of it.

Nice. But that's more 'Anime and porn and video games' then it is 'computers'. ;)

I really wish I had a digitial camera. I could then take pics of my piles of hardware and the contents of my lab for you all.

NOTE: be careful of things lying around your desk in such photos they may reveal things like your general location.

Yeah but I've already given that away by posting in a certain thread.

I got my "rack" all set up and running sometime in March. 6 P3s and 2 P2s. Not world beaters, but a lot of fun. They're running Slack, Debian and OpenBSD. I use an old Commander KVM switch and have a few 24 port hubs, just in case. :) It's networked through a powerline router and connects to my office two floors up.

Rack1

Rack2

Rack3

Eventually I'd like to put together a real rack. But I have about a thousand other projects to take care of first. Besides, I can't really complain. This setup cost under $300. Some upgrades are coming in the next few weeks.

Routers and first homebuilt box (circa 1999)

I put away the SMC and D-Link in favor of a WRT54G that I'm working on hacking the firmware.

Desk and stuff

My homemade wraparound desk and drawing table (full of stuff when this was taken, but clean now). Since then I've added a 200 Gb file server running Fedora (just for variety). There's a RedHat 9 box with an 80Gb drive on the other side of the room that was my old server (not pictured).

A cool TiVeron box.

My baby where I do most of my work and administer all the boxen in the house, except for the token Win 2000 machine (not pictured).
