i wasnt home at this time, but i got home and checked the caller-id and it said:

anyone have any idea what that is? maybe just a distorted caller id signal?

a lot of times the telcos or someone will send shit like this. pretty much anyone behind a pbx can send a generic number like this.

More specifically, anyone with ISDN PRI service can send a number like this, since in PRI, the switch relies on the customer's equipment to send the calling party number over the D channel.

that's odd, whenever I get an ANI fail it just says "Unknown Number" rather than translating it to 000-0000.

When my friend faxbacked my number as a joke, it showed up as that number, maybe that helps ...
