We called a couple of these numbers on Default Radio ep 16.5. There wasnt that much in this scan except the old NY Tel. message and the Verizon hr.helpline thing. Dont miss the dial tone on 9948...

Very interesting scan. I wish the 99xx portion of exchanges here were as interesting as some of the ones you scanned. The 99xx portions of exchanges here are mostly residential and business lines, nothing interesting at all. I practically scanned all the 99xx portions of all the local exchanges here, and haven't found anything worth remembering.

Yeah, im gonna edit that. Verizon almost NEVER (as far as I know) has any switch dial-ins, so I never thought there would be any confusion... but there always is.

that NY Tel message is pretty kickass, the voice really stands out.

it's got that distinctive new york accent.

i think i'll put it as my "hold call" message on my cell
