Eons ago they and MCI used Dan Ray exchanges with Cognitronics film-loop announcers (THEE - NUMBER - YOUHAVE - DIALED - ISNOT - ONTHEE - NETWORK - TWO - ONE - M - - - boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop bo-boop boop boop...) That was when Sprint was still SPC, before the era of innovative fiber-optic digital networks providing connections so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Evan covered that some in the Early 80s tapes about CCIS networks.

I have no idea what they're using today but I wouldn't rule out them being a DMS house since they're so common.

Their toll network is purely DMS-250s and 300s, yeah. Their hardon for Nortel is pretty pronounced, though; a lot of the ex-Sprint Local territories are almost entirely Nortel switches. Their mobile network is a bit of a different story, though.
