Crossbox AT&T

7 posts in this topic

I got some sweet pictures of my local crossbox and how took some photos on how to make a outgoing call using a beige box connected to a crossbox.

First photo. Anytime you open a crossbox on the left and right side of the cabinet you will see this. This is a tool technicians use to check to see if their is a dial tone. Their is a alligator clip that you would use to clip on to two terminal pairs and then you would clip your beige box up to the bolts and see if you could hear a dial tone.

Second photo. That is the alligator clip clamped on to a active terminal. I heard a dial tone.

Third photo. That is my beige box connected to the bolts.

Fourth photo. That is the left side. Blue distribution. This one had a lot of landlines connected to it.

Fifth photo. Green distribution. This is in the middle. This one also had a lot of landlines.

Sixth photo. Green distribution. This had a small amount of landlines. Seemed liked a special set of dedicated wires.

Seventh photo. Just a picture of the terminals.

I'm no legal expert but I don't see why you couldn't.

You're fine to post here! Visitors may not be able to view them if you upload them to the binrev gallery. I've switched to using imgur and linking them.

Sorry to mention this but do you work for Bellsouth?

The reason I ask this is because of how you have access inside one...

Haha no I do not work for Bellsouth, actually Bellsouth is no longer around! AT&T bought them! I am just a phreaker, that is how I have access inside of this haha.

Easiest way to open a crossbox is to get a 7/16 nut driver. It's just a hex bolt and when you put the nut driver on the bolt turn to the right and a spring will pop and you then turn the handle to the right and pull out and then it opens! I will be posting a lot of more things about AT&T! :)
