What are some of your favourite encryption apps?

Locknote (encrypted notepad replacement windows)

Truecrypt (Windows/*nix)

I guess the only encryption app I really use is Enigmail and GPG. I also have some encrypted LVM volumes, if that counts.

Truecrypt is one of my favourites, i've also been messing around with Keepass which is a password manager.

I absolutely LOVE Truecrypt. I've encrypted the entire volume on several of my externals and thumb drives, with an autorun file on the root. You plug it in, type your password, and it mounts the TC volume. Very convenient and useful.

In the next release of OpenSolaris, ZFS should support encryption. I'll be using that when it comes out :)

Generally I just compress whatever I want encrypted, and put a password on it.

Quite frankly, it doesn't mater what you do, the NSA can decrypt just about anything. Hell, they can brute force 100+ character passwords with different cases, numbers and special characters in no time. I saw a documentary once, where they showed their bank of super computers; it was quite intimidating.

But I can understand wanting to keep the average Joe Sixpack out of your stuff...
