My LCD goes dim after 2 seconds.

now I'm obviously no electrician but I know its the inverter, the thing I want to know is, instead of spending $$$$ replacing the inverter, what do I look for thats causing the problem?

http://www.lcdrepair.us/e172-e173fpb-inver...power-2con.html

its an E153FPB/E173FPB model made by benq for dell, it runs a Genesis Display chip that has VGA in.

I'm gonna be using this LCD as my current trinitron's going in my new neo geo cab untill I can get a 27 inch TV for the arcade cab I'm gonna build :) the MVS-9000.

Off topic, the real deal takes 25" TVs, but I'm gonna extend the cabinet by 2 inches to accomodate your run of the mill 27 inch 'tron

EDIT: Inverter's fine! its the bottom CCFL that is fried.

:P off to ebay to buy a new one :P

EDIT: a freind had a spare but I accidently ripped a screen ribbon by accident now its completely useless.

I'll save the rest of it and see If I can get a spare of this monitor...

CRT..

Use high refresh rates if you don't wanna catch up an eye strain.. and stay away from your monitor for a few minutes for every hour or so.
