underclocking 1000HE running fedora

5 posts in this topic

I've been looking into underclocking my 1000HE. It gets "only" 5.5 hours right now when using wifi, I feel if I underclocked I could get significantly more. While it included a program to do so in the windows install, I flattened and installed Fedora Core 10 instead.

I was wondering where there is a utility that will let me adjust my 1000HE's FSB... I'm running linux (FC10) and can't find any... I saw mention of a "frequency scale applet" but I googled with no luck (as well as searched a bit with yum). So far everything I found has been windows only.

If anyone knows of a utility that can do this, please let me know.

Look for heat management software, software that turns the fan off when it isn't required. (The atom needs very little cooling)
