847-872-9951 -At first I thought this was a silent line, but then I found out that it's actually talkable. Only two callers can connect to this.

I was talking to one of my friends on there and a guy finally came on after i say 1 1/2-2 minutes sounding real staticky saying Hello is someone on my line. She finally said hello and he goes, "Are you from the phone company?"

Yeah.. we were talking about how cool it was that we were talking, and a guy comes on and says "Hello?! Are you on my line?" "Yeah! Hang up then."

I stayed on for a while, and you could hear some noise in the background still. I said "Hello?" He said, "Are you the phone company?" I said, "No.. I must have the wrong number" He said "What number did you dial?" I made up something close to his. I said, "I'm sorry I have the wrong number." He said, "Ok. bye."

Well, I guess that number is not going to last too long. And how did that phone technician get on the line when you were talking to your friend? Only two people can call that number, last time I checked.

He wasn't a phone technician though, and that's what we were wondering.

The Info found on it:

(847) 872-9951 is a land line based in Zion, IL

The registered service provider is Ameritech Illinois**.

Detailed listing information is not available.

Well, I guess that number is not going to last too long.

That's why there's simply some things that people don't give out on public forums. I hate to say it, but yeah, there are a lot of secrets kept in the world of phreakery. Abuse is probably the biggest reason of all of them. You have to be willing to take the numbers you put out here at the mercy of any idiot who types 'phreaking numbers' into Google.

Gotta agree there.

202-484-0000 - I think this is some sort of SS7 test.

My AT&T cell phone shows a Network Busy error message after three beeps. It's definitely returning an SS7 error, and I'm also pretty sure what it's giving you is on the local end, because I just get a reorder from my landline.

If a third caller calls that line, they get a busy. If two of you were on it and a third party came on, it probably is a telephone technician, I don't know who else it could be.

That's what we're wondering too. But i'm thinking the owner since it comes back residential and he said it was his line.

434-973-1782 - Some sort of monitoring unit. Doesn't sound like a sensaphone, though.

EDIT: Apparently, it's quite old. According to it, the last time it was programmed was February 27th, 1996. Option 4 runs off more information about it then you'd care to listen for.

215-843-1212

It just goes beep, and it doesn't supervise. The noise it makes is pretty cool. Any idea what this is? I got this when I was trying to call the time on 215-846-1212, but I dialed the wrong number.

BTW, the Philly time number doesn't supervise either, but it times out in a minute.

I tried calling the number several times between noon and 6pm, but it was busy each time. I've called it during the daytime before and I got through. This line doesn't time out, unless your long distance company cuts you off after a period of no supervision.

Wee, I owns Sprint :D

Embarq NOC - 800-669-1245

Sprint DSAC - 800-877-5045

Embarq "Special Service Remote Support Center" - 434-973-0036

913-762-5000 - Sprint Translations

913-762-2520 - Sprint Directory Information (Employee/Department lookups, basically a corporate directory)

913-762-2599 - Extender (passcoded)

913-762-2581 - Extender (passcoded)

Have fun!

EDIT: Apparently, the corporate directory has a different listing for the NOC. I guess it makes sense, given they're two seperate companies now -- 800-877-6627.

800-450-7580 - Learn how to "experience the Axe effect"

Worth a laugh or two if you're bored. If anybody is good at identifying default PBX voice prompts, pressing * gives you a generic error message. My guess is that it's going to be Mitel.

Some kewl numbers I've found recently:

800-847

0039: "Mesa available. 5741314"

0023: a 711 number. Did anyone ever find out what these numbers were for?

0106: cool double ring. It rings for a long time to a busy

0132: fax with interesting connection noises

0156: VERY cool noises. I have no idea what is going on here.

866-ANI-9957: "Test succesfull"

847-413

9697 "The Schaumburg is currently open, I repeat, the Schaumburg is currently open.

9696 DTMF bursts

8904 Chicago Mariott 2004 New Year's Party reservation line. The number really isn't that intersting, but the clicks connecting the call are noteworthy.

7999 Milliwatt

7996 A high-pitched tone

7699 The backdoor to 800-331-0500, ATT's wireless customer service number. But since this is the backdoor number, it reads CID. Block your CID, and you'll be surprised at what you'll get.

6999 Very strange tone. It kind of sounds like an old dial tone.

Also, 888-222-4455 is incredibly ridiculous. You call it and a dialtone comes on, followed by the fastest DTMF digits ever. It's a bit dissapointing when you find out what this number actually is, but its worth a call.

lol i called this number and it rung and some dude answered and stated saying hello and tapping on something, he sounded like he was in an echo filled room of some sort, so i guess its fixed
