Best way to do virtual con

5 posts in this topic

Ok, here is what I want people to be able to do.

1. Talk with each other.

2. Share computer desktops

3. Record it all (I can use camstudio for this, so the video conference software does not need to)

3. Work in Linux and Windows.

I looked at Ekiga, but I'm not sure it's what I need. The end goal is to have people get together online, do a presentation for each other and record it all. Sort of a mini hacker con on the web. What would be a good way to do this for free?

VPN + VoIP software that supports videochat and conferencing. Or instead of a VPN, you could use the AllPeers plugin for Firefox for file sharing.

By desktop sharing, I mean something like what Netmeeting use to do.
