TOR Problem

3 posts in this topic

My TOR button was working fine not too long ago. But when I enter a Proxy IP Address in the HTTP Proxy Textbox and then enter the port, then turn it on and check my IP its still the same as before? What could be causing this?

My TOR button

Tor button? Is this something like the Tor plugin for firefox that makes it easy to turn it on and off? Please try to be a bit more specific.

when I enter a Proxy IP Address in the HTTP Proxy Textbox

If you enter a Proxy IP address into your browser configuration you will use that proxy. By entering some other IP instead of localhost and privoxy's port your traffic is not being routed through tor, rather through the indicated proxy.

I hope that answers your question, if I misunderstood what you were asking my apologies.

* tor network sucks nutsack

* setup SSHD on a server at home or work :)

* get a usb flash drive

* download portaputty

* setup tunnel and for extra points save the key so you don't need to auth

I gave my girlfriend this because her school uses sonicwall etc ...

so all shes has to do is put in the USB stick and click start.bat and she can go to what ever site she wants

( and before you go flamin' the account is fairly secure / protected )

PS. anybody find a way to FORCE flash to use a proxy ? (example drawball.com uses some rawish connect func that won't tunnel )
