2 posts in this topic

Hey everyone.

Im trying to access my desktop computer using smbclient but im bumping into some problems.

smbclient -L Host shows this:

Domain=[HOST] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager]

Sharename Type Comment

--------- ---- -------

Folder Disk

Printer Printer Microsoft Office Document Image Writer

IPC$ IPC Remote IPC

print$ Disk Printer share

G$ Disk Share

ADMIN$ Disk Remote admin

C$ Disk Share

Domain=[HOST] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager]

Server Comment

--------- -------

Workgroup Master

--------- -------

So now i use:

smbclient \\\\Host\\C$

and i get

Domain=[HOST] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager]

tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED

the desktop doesnt have a password, so i tried with -N and same thing. Same for -U (User)

It just wont work , not sure why. However it works nicely for the shared folder.

Any ideas what wrong?

im using MAC OS X Leopard and the host (as u can see) is a XP machine

thanks for the help.
