learning to program

[Omega@localhost basic]$ gcc dumb.C -o Dumb

collect2: ld returned 1 exit satus

i tried to compile a program and thats the error message that i got, btw the program that im trying to compile came from c for dummies. can anyone help me out?

#include <stdio.h>
int main()
{
puts("l33t H4x0rz");
return(0);
}

The upper-case .C extension is bad. Use a lower-case .c extension and try again. Use lowercase extensions with GCC, the upper-case ones mean something different.

Call it dumb.c, not dumb.C.

EDIT: Bah Ohm, beat me to it. :(
