Anyone know of a freeware program to record my screen on Linux?

So far I can only find one shareware program.

There was also a hack that worked with VNC and recorded directly to flash (for easy web viewing). I think it was called vnc2flv or vnc2swf or something.

I've been looking for the same type of program a few days back and I found these two

RecordMyDesktop: Which I already tested and I like it very but... but its completely without GUI, and thus requires your to read the manual (and memorize sits basic options for better control on it). Basiclly its very good free program, and fairly easy to learn (everything is written in the manual just write man recordmydesktop in the shell)

Istanbul Desktop Session Recorder: Haven't really tested it but on the surface it seems a bit easier to use then RecordMyDesktop due to its GUI, but I also noticed its less powerful then RecordMyDesktop... so its kinda win/lose situation... they're both free so I'd say try them both see what fits you better... My personal favorite is RecordMyDesktop
