Anyone seen this PBS show?

Seems to be quite a comprehensive site, ignoring that they get a few of the facts wrong such as with the info on 2600.

Some links worth visiting on that site:

hmm... just read this from the transcript:

Hackers are nothing if not generous. In fact, anybody can become a hacker just by visiting their Web sites and downloading available versions of a device called a Trojan horse, like Back Orifice, then load it into a greeting card or a popular computer game, like the one he sent to me by email.
"CURADOR": Yeah, that doesn't concern me at all. They couldn't hack their way out of a wet paper bag, law enforcement.

spooky - you just stumbled across that..and i just watched it 2 weeks ago in one of my classes...

It was pretty entertaining...nothing mind blowing most people here would be shocked to here...

some omissions and errors and exagerations...but worth an hour of your time if you're bored.

i thought this was mentioned b4 and i found the thread. the show, frontline, with the one about cyberwar was on last night. i must say, it was pure to semi-pure shit. was struck me as best was when they did the live "cyberwar" and they have that GUI screen, and the clowns head pops up, telling them they are hacked. then the guy says "initatiaing traceroute". LMAO. then someone says "may i run the hack back script" and he is given permission to do so. more LMAO.

does the government REALLY think this is how a cyberwar whould go down? i hope not. if something was to happen, it wouldnt be organized like this, and it would be guys that really know their shit that dont take orders and do what has to get done. (props to the sandia red team shown in the show)

'Frontline' exposes chilling threat of cyber attacks

The wear-and-tear on our psyches was supposed to decline with the end of the Cold War. Instead, the list of things to worry about just gets longer: Hijacked airplanes. Anthrax. Rogue states with nukes or chemical weapons. Whatever strange mental illness possessed that Iraqi information minister. Now Frontline has come up with one more: an attack on the Internet.

Everything from traffic lights to the Wall Street trading floors is wired to the Internet and vulnerable to cyber attacks. A cyber assault on the computerized switching in America's power grid could conceivably leave most of the country without electricity for six months, one security chief warns.

Nick: I watched that last night...it was ok. Mostly a bunch of what ifs and people in high positions saying that all hell could break loose. What I found interesting was the mention of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. This was not a term I was familiar with but essentially these systems control things such as power switching stations, flood gates, solar panels, etc. Someone other than the official operator(s) controlling such systems would be very bad :(.
