Turn Your $60 router into a $600 router (Does this Work?)

4 posts in this topic

I took a look @ it, it really seams to work.

The Idea is good, the only doubt I had was about the hardware.

I have a WRT-54g and I have put a few different firmware on there. Although, I like dd-wrt the most.

This is a heavily documented idea, so by all means it is not new.

The Idea is good, the only doubt I had was about the hardware.

What do you mean? On versions 1-3 (maybe 4, I forget) all have enough RAM to hold a linux kernel. Version 5 of the router has less RAM than the previous versions, but I've heard that people have stuck linux (or something) on it.

If you search the forums for wrt-54g I'm sure you'll find some more information.
