Dial Tone

CD Redbox

:help:

I read about someone, I forget who, burning the redbox tones on the end of one of their music CDs. Whats the max length of a CD, so I can tell whether any in my collection are suitable?

Second, which side of the headphones should I hold to the reciever?

3rd, is the .wav format the correct format to burn to an audio disc?

1) Depends on the format you are burning, I woudl burn it on a new CD-RW (In case you want to add other tones... ie blue box)

2) Any, but make suire they are good, if the operator hears background noise if you disabled the muting feature that's bad...

3) Depends on the player but yes .wav will work...

If you're going to be going with a tone dialer and ABCD tones why not just get a tone dialer with silver box tones?

If you find any in-band trunks (There are like 2 rumored to be somewhere in Tenesse ^_^) might want to have some blue box tones, but good luck on the tone dialer, if you can shell out the extra cash for the A/B/C/D tones..

<PIMP TYPE=SHAMELESS>

My short article on OSP has some code to generate all of the DTMF, MF, and redbox tones (and you can easily modify it to generate any tones you want).

ANd mp3 format isnt really needed if your looking to burn them on audio cd.. just use your nix to convert them with sox into raw before you burn them as cda.
