Version Field Test Numbers

23 posts in this topic

I found a version samsung cellular phone (no SIM required)..And I have some field test numbers..

Can someone point me in the right direction on how this is done?

Does the cell phone need to be unlocked first?

How exactly can I get free out going calls?

(years ago i paid $20 bucks for free out going calls, and ive always wondered how its done)

But my question was how can I unlock it and add a field test number to make unlimited calls.?

I'll try to contact Brakedance J and see...

(the phone is a Samsung A310...flip phone..right before camera phones took over)

There is no simple way to unlock a cell phone and make free calls, at least the details are not publicly available. If they were, then everyone would do it! Unless this 'version' samsung phone is some special phone, you're not gonna find a quick "how to make free calls" guide. what is a 'version' phone?

Just kidding. Oh, and Im calling BS on your '20 dollar bucks for free out going calls'

About 3 years ago,a friend of mine said for 20 bucks he could get me free cell phone service..(I didnt believe him either)... I could make outgoing calls, but no one could call me.

So I gave him 20 bucks and he took my old moto-startac and came back 2 days later, I called my caller ID...it was a New Jersey number, I called all kinds of places...bout month and a half later it quit working....wondering how he done it..

but frankly I dont give a damn if you believe me or not

lol, its not free services guys. usually for a verizon phone, you can unlock it by entering the service code, usually 6 zero's, then change some options and enter the test number that works and there you have it, free outgoing calls. It all depends on the type of phone though. Don't flame, it can be done.

That link is for unlocking Samsung GSM phones, unlocking as in so they can be used on other carriers, nothing to do with being able to change whats written on the SIM through a menu.

H5N1, lighten up, when you provide generic stories they are not going to always be believed. And doesnt even seem like a good deal for something illegal, only outgoing calls for a month with a risk of prison? For about half the price of a real paid plan? No thanks.

lol, yes, but you unlock it so you can change all the info. Thats the point of not having anything programmed with a SIM. You can change everything within the phone, we have a guy who does it down here. They cut mine off, but we didn't have test numbers at the time, and he programmed it to make calls still. I'm not trying to start a flame war w/ya, just saying its possible.

Well... Since it can't receive incoming calls (I am familiar with what he talks about, a friend of mine used to use a SIM card programmer and did something he called "cracking SIM cards" which allowed unlimited outgoing but no incoming because you no longer have a phone number once its cracked), then the only way to trace it is with GPS. Its not hard to turn the GPS off... Then they can only triangulate your signal through signal acquisition. Basically, as long as you turn off you're phone when you're done using it (and there's really no reason to have it on otherwise because you can't receive calls) you can't get caught unless you or your friends run your mouth to the wrong person.

It is impossible to get "free" calls from a cellphone by 'modifying your access' on the headset. It just can't work for obvious reasons.

The closest you can come to doing this is 'reprogramming' your phone into someone elses. For SIM Phones, its a matter of cloning the SIM and changing the NAM field. On non-SIM phones, you have to reprogram your ESN (id), MDN (call number), and Nam-serving SID field (pin). On the verizon and US Cellular network, you can find these settings on the debug menu in your phone. You will need valid info from another phone to successfully 'clone' it. I am not sure as to what would happen if two of the same phones connected to the network.

I lost my article on reprogramming VX phones. See if you can find a copy floating around somewhere or ask a friend. It basically outlined the main debug menus, along with field test, training, WAP, Store settings, FCC Power Settings, and homebrew apps.

gpsOne is another really neat thing to play around with. You can view your altitude, direction, speed, location, and triangulation by dialing '922' after enabling it in the debug menu. It has options to set an IP and Port to send periotic location info, however I havent gotten that to work.

Here are some unlock codes I had on my desktop froma while back:

LG VX XXXX phones:

[Main Menu] 0 000000 - Verizon (US Cellular unknown)

[Debug Menu] # - Physical Hardware check.

Verizon-

*288 80 - force update, ignore fails

*288 99 - force seconday tower update

*288 00 - original tower update

h3x, im going to have to play the BS card on you.

nothing you can do on your headset will allow you free calls, unless, as i mentioned above, you duplicate another.

The phone companies arent stupid. Hence, as you started to go into, even if you were able to 'clone' a phone, it could only be on when the phone you cloned was off, which doesn't really happen to often in this day and age. Two of the same numbers cant register at once, they would be immediatly blacklisted.

(Note: This is similar to the *288 flash Verizon payphone firmware  :ATTN: )

FWIW, at one point, a certain large nationwide's carrier AMPS network would terminate all NANP calls someone tried to make, if their MIN was set to a certain digit repeated ten times.

This was three years ago; the exploit did not work in CDMA networks.

All unlocked means is it is not locked to your carrier anymore, you can use any carrier that supports the bands your phone does.

test numbers are pointless from your headset. 95% of them dont work either, your simply forcing a certain ammount of data to be transfered at a certain rate.

play with gpsOne instead, its more interesting :-). enable it then dial *922*

though your phone is no longer active and locked to a carrier you can now you can use it with most carrriers.
