Defcon?

23 posts in this topic

Does anyone know of any age requirements to get into defcon? Me and a few friends were going to try and go, but none of us are 18 yet. And what are some of the coolest things at defcon??

okay, i wasnt sure. And ill have the money. Im going to work all summer. I do have one more question, If i get my dad to reserve the room for us, does he have to be there when we check in? cause i didnt really want any of our parents to go, unless they have to.

I would assume so since most hotels like to see an adult check-in or hold a credit card in case of damages to the room. In any case, if you have a friend that is 18+ then have your dad call the hotel and say that person is going to be your legal guardian. Then when you check-in that person just has to flash their ID.

Yeah, we were thinking about taking one of our 18 year old friends, but it depends on when he starts college. And how far in advance should i reserve a room? i think we'll be staying at the riviera

I don't know as I've never been to DefCon, but I plan on being there this year. I would guess a 2+ month reservation should suffice, and may get a lower price for an advanced reservation.

just so you all know, vegas is super hard to get a hotel room in if your under 21. only a few places in town are 18 and up. how do you know if a place is 18+? if they have a casino or not. alexis park is one of the few hotels in town that doesnt have a casino.

To get into Defcon... show up with the cash.

To get a hotel room... then you'll probalby need to meet whatever the age requirment is. Alot of the hotels in Vegas requires atleast 1 person to be 18 from what I understand.

Not sure on that actually, I was in vegas a few years ago with my dad on a business trip (I was under age), the hotel had rules that I could not be on the floor unless I was passing through (to the food >_>) I would assume having rules like that in place would mean that 18 year olds could get a room and simply be harassed when going to get food. :P

If you're under 21, you are only allowed in the casino if you are walking to a destination other than the casino itself. I believe you are allowed to be everywhere else on hotel premises at all times.
