What type of servers/hard drives, if any, do USA public schools store their transcripts and grades usually and are they possibly usually acessible via the internet? i.e. connet to computer using remote access to look up computer-stored report cards, alumni information ... It's just a question, Please dont flame me!

There are a TON of student record/grade keeping applications. Usually you can shoulder surf the name of the app they use and research from there. And no, they are usually not accessable via an outside network, unless your school has a very brave/stupid sysadmin.

DAMN IT....I posted a long time ago that Novell does not put out Intouch!!!! Intouch is for grades and other shit, Novell is the OS on the server(s). you people need to go to whom you think makes an app and look for it. if you go to Novell.com you will NOT find anything about it. WHY? BECAUSE THEY DON'T FUCKING MAKE!!!

My schools uses a soft client called citrix to remote desktop to a server that is located across town. They type in 3 seperate users n pw. its way to fucken protective... their 100k solution can be broken down by a $50 hardware keylogger.

xof7, you'd be happier if they had two factor auth, or smartcards, or RSA OTP generators. With three passwords their probably doing the best they can with their money. I'm no proponent of school networks, I've dealt with far too many problems created by school netadmins, but it's a little arrogent to turn down up your nose just because they don't use two factor.
