Wireless Keyboards

11 posts in this topic

I've got a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse!

I think it only must have worked if they didn’t have encryption on the keyboard/didn’t have it turned on.

With fresh batteries the most my keyboard has worked is about 10m away.

Wartyping

Someone should code up a keyboard signal decoder (like the POCSAG decoder programs for pagers Wintermute was talking about)

Then one could drive/walk around an area where they knew a wireless keyboard was in use with a scanner, tape recorder/laptop, and high-gain antenna and see what people are typing!

The frequencies for Logitech products are available on the following URL:

please, its mut3 :nono:

for those freqs, its gonna have to be a shortwave reciever, my scanner just falls short, at 29 Mhz. so, i busted out the shortwave, and listened to mouse movements for a good 20 minutes. fairly complex shit. im hoping the keyboard is better, i have yet to try b/c

a) just got back from my 2600 meet

B) dont wann go looking for the keyboard.

now, if the keyboard was beeping out straight ASCII, we might have something....

Well I had a go putting my frequency counter on the keyboard but it wouldn’t detect it so I just tuned to 27.1MHz on my scanner.

I recorded some normal typing (each sound is a separate key press) then I just held some keys down which is the continuous sound at the end is.

So if anyone wants to hear a Logitech Keyboard.

well, the music wasn't that original, but it had a good beat to it and was easy to dance to.

I give it an 7 out of 10.
