IMHO this should go in the ham radio place so when i come to read about haxoring i dont get some dude posting a picture of a 10,000$ ham radio.

What you really want to get instead of that Icom unit is a Yaesu FT-847 "Earth Station".

Looks like a successor to the IC R-9000.

There is no successor to the R-9000, although from what I've heard the R-8500 was actually a better receiver and is still in production.

If you're willing to spend that much cheddar on a piece of wireless technology I'd recommend that you acquire a spectrum analyzer instead.
