Okay so i have a dilemma. My computer stopped playing music from my media player. But it will play music from websites so i know its not my sound card. All i hear when i press play for WMP is static. Does anyone have a clue whats going on?

Thanks

No. The only reason you would lose it is if maybe it was stored in the c:\program files\windows media player directory

If you have added licenses for protected content BACK THEM UP (I don't know why the hell you would protect them but..).

Buy a $250 player and switch operating systems because of a media player problem? Seems like the easiest thing to do would be to just reinstall wmp, or switch to another player like winamp or quintessential.

I advise you to atleast get linux, and what i ment cerealkiller76 was that he should merely get an iPOD so he can listen to his audio on the move, iPODS are leet. Also mplayer is a movie player for Linux. Supports reading from network, dvd, vcd, file, pipes, and v4l.

:(( I need help with my forums on my site...i cant change the skin, it looks so bleh

try typing mplayer2 or wmplayer2 in the run box, I forget what it is. Windows is becoming a more and more faint memory.

iPods are for sheep. you're telling him to use linux and buy something that DRMs (and also re-encodes) its content, many could view that as hypocritical.

use something useful such as: winamp, QCD, foobar2000.

Yo does Mplayer already come with linux? I have Debian installed on a laptop ( but dont have it with me right now ). If not where can I get it and is it hard to install? Hopefully installing the son of bitch is not to complicated to install. Also does Mplayer play .wmv files? I miss watching all my free porn movies that are in .wmv format! Oh and what about RealPlayer!? ( Googling! )

no, you usually have to install mplayer (apt-get mplayer should work). there's also some codecs you can download to get mplayer to play things such as .wma or .wmv.

realplayer? try Real Alternative.

don't know, i personally LIKE being able to control my media (something iPods and a few other players do not let you do) and being able to take it wherever i want, in whatever format and on whatever hardware. anything you buy from iTMS, it works on your iPod and if you lose that song, you have to buy it again. isn't that great since you already paid for it?!

i own a NeurosII HD 256MB/30GB bundle, i love it. it does everything i need it to and now i can play Tetris on it. i also have a Creative Zen Micro 5GB, it's also great. both players do one thing very well: they take my mp3s and play them which is what they're made to do.

I always compile my Mplayer. Because it gives me full control, to add in futures and remove some of them.
