51 posts in this topic

I had the strangest dream I've had in years last night and today this test tells me I'm OS/2 Warp... life just gets weirder and weirder.

It just told me I was GNU/HURD.. turns out I missed a question so I took it again and it told me I was Amiga OS:

<reminisce>

I used mostly OS/2 2.1GA back in the day (right before Warp). It was significantly better than Windows 3.1 (no surprise there) and ran like a champ on my 386/25 with 8MB of RAM.

It just blew my mind that I could download at 14.4k in the background and run Win-OS/2 (Windows 3.1 support) at the same time and not lose data. A far cry from DesqView (a DOS multitasking environment).

The only problem was the lack of native applications. I wish I could've programmed in C at the time to try to fill the gap... I heard that IBM's CSet++/2 (sp?) environment was incredible (and it supported multi-threading, oh man, so damned cool).

Damn, I feel old and I'm only 24. ;)

</reminisce>

I guess I don't feel so bad that it called me OS/2 anymore. :)
