  1. ok new idea I while ago I was in a bank looking out the back and I saw all the network stuff with LEDS flashing and got to wonder if it would be possible to 'watch' the traffic with a telescope and a photo diode on it?? (+electronics) I checked out my network ages ago with a scope and found the led has high speed data on it, but I guess that some LEDS just flash not in sync with the data Dave
  2. Bonjour!
  3. ok on its way s l o w l y dialup Let me know if the sound is ok, sounds 'choppy' here but could be my slow PC (200mhz P1) on play back Dave.. PS can convert to 'any' type you like. BUT takes ages (3.5 hours in this case!). REALLY must get a new PC....
  4. I've converted it to a .MPG BUT it's BIG! 22 Meg !! got it down to 11 but the quality goes ... Guess I could email it to Oldskoophreak.com if anyones interested in a large .mpg version anyone ? Dave...
  5. If your a ham, and find your self in a car park (and dored) its 'fun' to transmit on about 433 mhz (different in other countrys!) and block the door lock zapper and alarms on peoples cars, them watch them open the hood(bonnet) get the wife’s zapper from here bag. etc A 5watt handheld found to block a whole car park ~ 500 foot or more! Dave.... After all it’s a 'shared band'!
  6. Thanks guys just what I needed!! This board is COOL ...... Dave......
  7. Hi Everyone I'm after a list of IP + owner lists, sort of 000.000.XXX.XXX = bla bla isp - 255.255.XXX.XXX = another bla bla only the upper A class ??? addresses 65536 of em... NOT all 4,294,967,296 but just the 'upper' ones ! my ISP (Tiscali) is 212.129.XXX.XXX I know I can go and look them up on there but nice to have a list! OR know where I can download them. Thanks Dave...... Always looking UP
  8. Yep, next time I'm in the UK I'll record it, unless someone beats me to it of course! And sorry to cross post, I realised I was in the 'wrong' area with the first one so posted another, I was going to delete the first, honest! The French phone system seems pretty cool line voltages same as UK 50 volts , but the ring timing is different bit like the USA ones with a long pauses. All the public phone use phone cards (Smart) OR credit cards. The electronics magazines seem to advertise loads of smart card readers/programmers for sale could be interesting needs more investigating! Dave..... Ever wondering....
  9. In the UK if you dial 17070 from any BT phone you'll get a 'BT line test facility' then it tells you the number of the phone your using and some other tests like Ringback,Quiteline, etc Not tested this in a while as I'm now living in FRANCE! Dave (Englishman living in France) PS I think the use of this number maybe logged, so best not over do it

  11. Hi everyone, my first post here!, OK how do scan for ip addrsses on a LAN/WLAN,I guess I mean subnets??. What I want to do is 'find' other PC's on a network,I have a network here (Peer to peer) but can't seem to 'see' the other PC via my dynamic IP address only this PC, so how do I get to see the other PC's on the network?? Dave....
