Those are some good pictures you took. Like the business cards, and pass you got... Question for you are you going to share the Defcon cd and the I-hack DJ cd. 3. Hey StankDawg, How are the shirts doing on sales? I'm kind of a beer bell guy... XXL would be good for me, but from you post I guess we would have to wait for then right? Other thing I have a buddy of mine that has some connection in the garment industry down here in L.A... I will talk to him to find out the cost and maybe get you a better deal on small to XXL.
  4. After reading everyone post on here... Some of you have some good points and suggestions. I think for the n00b you have to teach the basic and show then. It's like when you were a little kid and wanted to ride a bike. Was your father, brother or mother showing you the proper way of writing, putting on the brakes, and not falling... It's the same with h*cking I think . For the last yr I been reading a couple here and there. I learned a couple things but sometimes it's always good to have someone show you also. That way you do it the correct way and not the wrong way. It's a good idea that your putting this together for everyone. Just let us know when your done and were to download the file. Good luck...
  5. Like your little profile... Question for you.... How did you get started in the security field? For an expert like yourself how would you point a n00b in the right direction... Sorry to be asking but I'm thinking about going into security... I been looking at the CISSP site very interesting... I been working with computer for about 8 yrs on different things OS, installation but never really got into security until I read and heard how fun it is. Let me know when you have time.
  6. Dammm I also don't have money.... this time around... hopefully some of you might bring back something good to share with the group...
  7. Thanks for the feedback... For me I think I go just to see what's its like to be around a whole of smart geeks... Plus learn, and be able to meet people...

  9. Question for you... Would I be able to use this software if I connect to an AP and not sufe? Think of it like man in the middle picking up traffic.
  10. Okay if you have a wireless router and your trying to see who is connecting to your router... Try this software... I have it running on my computer checking my log file on machines that are scanning my ip address... http://sonic.net/wallwatcher/ Hopefully this will help you...
  11. I'm going to look for a room tonight... 14. You know what I had the same problem...Surfing the web was fast but my program and other things were slow... What I started to do is go back to the basic and clean out my computer. I deleted all my online/off line IE files, cache, and my tempory IE files. See if that works for you..

  17. Well for me rather then learing programming right now. I would like to learn how to hack a computer. I started to learn linux by installing FC6 on my laptop. I would really like to get into wifi hacking and security... Any good tips or url you might suggest to learn security using linux or something towards security. --Malachai--

  20. Hello all, I have a question for you. I been working with FC6 for a while, but I'm ready to give up on it... I was wondering what you guys think about Ubuntu? Which one is better to learn and much easier to load, and configure it on a laptop? I need a good OS to learn how to wardrive. FC6 is okay but dammm trying to configure things is a pain, plus ipw2200 is bitch to configure under FC6... For some reason I can't connect to any access point. Let me know what you think --Malachai--
  21. I definitely agree with that. When you're a newbie and frustrated, it's easy to "blame the distro" and try some other distro. No idea if that's the problem here, but don't be too hasty in moving to a new distro. On the other hand, you can't really be too hasty in trying anything new. I love Ubuntu, it suits my needs, is not bloated and because of tools like Automatix, is easiest to set up. Ubuntu lets me be as lazy as possible and still have all the stuff I want. You might not like it at all, this is all a matter of preference. You just have to try distros until you find one that you really like, and stick with it. Or become a "linux geek" and perpetually try new distros. For me it's not really about the distro, a distro is just a means to an end. You are correct about being frustrated... I relaxed and got away from the computer. I will try to figure things out. I will also load ubuntu on my virt machine and see how it works. I will keep on trying ... thanks for the post. --Malachai--
  22. Hello, it's been a while since I posted and been here... I was just listing to my podcast for show 183. Regarding the Disney pins I know what you're talking about. I'm a big collect on those. Trust me people fight over those older and young.. I have about 2000 of them plus special pins. I don't know if this was the correct place to post if not let me know if we have a place to talk about the podcast show. --Malachai--

  24. Hello all, I'm new to the whole wardriving and wifi world. I just learned that Kismet would pick up more wireless networks then netstumbler... Don't laugh like I said I'm new to this. Well after reading this. I decided to install it on my laptop that is running FC6. I ran yum install Kismet... Yum installed the software. Now here's my question how do I start up the program. I thought if I just ran the command Kismet it would start. When i did that I received these error message. [root@localhost ~]# kismet Server options: none Client options: none Starting server... Will drop privs to kismet (101) gid 102 No specific sources given to be enabled, all will be enabled. Enabling channel hopping. Enabling channel splitting. NOTICE: Disabling channel hopping, no enabled sources are able to change channel. Dropped privs to kismet (101) gid 102e Source 0 (addme): Opening none source interface none... FATAL: Please configure at least one packet source. Kismet will not function if no packet sources are defined in kismet.conf or on the command line. Please read the README for more information about configuring Kismet. Kismet exiting. Waiting for server to start before starting UI... I know that kismet has to run with certain network cards. Below are my spec's for my laptop. Would anyone try to help me understand this? I went to the kismet website, I could not find anything on how to set kismet up . Dell XPS M140 (Laptop) Intel® Pentium® M Processor 750 (1.86GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB) Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005 1GB Shared DDR2 SDRAM 2 Dimms 100GB 5400rpm Hard Drive Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900 Intel Corporation Pro/Wireless 2200BG (rev 05) Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 03) Thanks
