  1. Not a hardware problem?...I bet it's that if it's nothing to do with the software. Maybe there's a problem with the grounding or something, or a fluctuating power supply. Are we talking about a desktop here?
  2. I wish I could do that with mine...$40 a month and its like using dialup, plus all you're supposed to be able to do is surf the web etc. ...but not me
  3. Thanks for the link...I've been doing a bit of playing around and found the .flv...but when you try and download them you get redirected to the .swf Guess you probably tried that already Anyone up for doing a screen cap. for them all? Unless there's a way to decompile the .swf and get a bit more from it?
  4. I've just got my hands on one of these little dad uses then to log into the company mail server..and since they're battery powered (and all batteries die) I just get given the old ones I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with these and knows of any possible mods that can be made
  5. I was watching an episode of Vanished (don't ask...there's shit on tv) and they were talking about how phone companies distort the sound going through the microphone to stop "hackers" from red boxing. How accurate is that? I thought that the mic ws muted before coins are inserted. I know pay phones vary drastically , but could someone expand on that a little for me? I'm not much of a phreak, but I do find it quite interesting...especially now that I'm around a new phone system out here.
  6. I just used a generator to get it. I believe it's 128-B because it's alpha numeric.
  7. couldn't you just scan the card and use the barcode from the resulting image?
  8. Hotmail has no POP access as far as I know. Aghaster: I'm still looking btw...I just can't access google right now [edit] What I'm basically thinking is an email client ...those are all free and portable...I have yet to find an open source one though [edit2]
  9. Yeah...isn't it basically the same as with a harddrive?..You try deleting 300 1mb files compared to 1 300mb file and the 300 small files will take a lot longer. If you were to zip all those files to make 1 large file (with no compression for the sake of keeping them the same size) it will be the same as the 300mb file. So, I suppose you could keep all your files zipped together in groups and just extract them as you need them.
  10. I can't seem to traceroute past my's quite strange: Tracing route to [] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 2 307 ms 16 ms 19 ms [] 3 19 ms 18 ms 21 ms [] 4 18 ms 19 ms 20 ms 5 * * * Request timed out. 6 20 ms 19 ms 19 ms [] 7 19 ms 19 ms 36 ms [] 8 153 ms 19 ms 18 ms [] 9 * * * Request timed out. 10 * * * Request timed out. 11 * * * Request timed out. 12 * * * Request timed out. 13 * * * Request timed out. 14 * * * Request timed out. And I can't seem to ping external sites/ip' this something on my end? Maybe my router?
  11. Can you use some email clients to connect to hotmail?...I know you can use Outlook, but maybe using thunderbird? I'm having a look around right now for other options.
  12. I got it. Thanks, of course, I won't give the files away, sorry anubis26... That's cool, but maybe you shouldn't have added this P.S. then... I would have sent the files so somebody could help me read them, and it wouldn't have mattered that much because it's mostly all in French. Anyway, I took a quick look at it, there is plenty of personal information and passwords in there, far too much to be shared without a password. I'll try to email the guy to warn him. Yeah...I've seen a lot on webservers that have the root dir as c:\ and Outlook or Outlook express are almost always being used! It's kinda crazy how that can happen...also on p2p networks you get that a lot.
  13. Actually, I've jsut started listening to BBR...I kinda didn't think I'd like it, I prefer to watch like Hack TV for example and Infonomicon...and 183 was the first one for me But yeah...I'm burning through 4/5 episodes a day now trying to catch up!
  14. And also listen to some of the first Binary Revolution Radio episodes...Stank brought up some good topics there...I've been listening to them a little the past few days.
  15. I remember someone uploading them on and they got in trouble for that because of this whole thing with linking to weapons manuals etc. I'm not entirely sure what the rules on the forums are for that kinda stuff...I'll have a read.
  16. Nice...I haven't looked through any of them...but there're a good few books there
  17. Did it work before? Is there a model number on it that you could look up on a support site?
  18. Like I said before...resolve the IP/do a traceroute or even a visual traceroute. An ip WHOIS will give you a little more detail too. If you're unsure of these terms, google them...that'll usually point you in the right direction. do you think you could PM me with one of the ip's?
  19. It'd be easier if you were on a php host, you just have access to more powerful tools. Something you could to is do a traceroute and resolve the ip address...and also a visual traceroute might help. Have you seen this ip regularly? Does it change? Heh...and are you sure it isn't a search engine bot?
  20. I get those server errors now and then...they go away if you search again...I've never had then repeat before
  21. Was there better coverage of this story on your side? the Binrev spid3r beat me to it by a couple minutes
  22. I'm not a spammer, I'm not a scammer and I don't know where you find kiddy porn on the net, but I sure do use tor. *also runs and hides*
  23. I've seen some of these articles other the caving one But they're really good
  24. Aren't they in all folders, except on removable devices? I found this on my D drive: [.ShellClassInfo] FolderType=MusicAlbum MusicBuyUrl=[1991]&artistID=CE8158A6-464A-4092-A77E-82650662E803&p_id=P%20%20%20%20%205383&artist=Seal&locale=409&geoid=e3&version= I plan on changing that...I'm not sure why it's decided that it's a music folder
  25. Yet another reason why myspace is lame. Change ALL you, myspace...the lot. Same goes for your friend.
