  1. My friend is looking for a data center and I was wondering if anyone knows of any good ones, it has to be SAS70 compliant and the data has to be encypted at rest and in transit any tips would be greatly appreciated! thanks!
  2. sorry to threadmine but to answer your question yes.. and the hard drive bay is in the place where the power supply would go cause the cables on the power supply wouldn't reach far enough.. the reason the power supply is on the outside of the computer is because it was made for a btx case and that was the only power supply that worked.. seeing as the first one i tried on my "10 minute scrap part computer build" attempted to burst into flames it was alot of fun.. more pics here
  3. If you are connecting 2 computers directly to each other via the NIC on the back you will need a crossover cable otherwise straighthrough cables should be fine if you are using your switch. what i recommend you do is just set a static ip address on both computers, as you have it already. is fine, you shouldn't need a gateway if you don't want an internet connection on the device. then just type in the ip of the other computer into the run box (windows key + R) like this without quotes "\\ip address here". don't know if any of that made sense but thats my two sense worth but honestly the easiest thing to do in this case would be to use a router, as has been stated previously. you can get a cheap one from Fry's for about 20 bucks. however i would go with a D-link or Linksys.
  4. ok we will see what happens with arp poisoning, and packet redirects considering i can pick up the mac addresses with airodump UPDATE: bah. It didn't work, arpspoof wouldn't run. It kept segfaulting
  5. thank you guys for your posts this really helped clarify what was going on here..
  6. well i used a Syn stealth scan, a TCP connect scan, and a ping scan. all of which came back negative.. there were different os's being used, several windows and osx hosts i could physically see.. which is why i thought it was strange Im running linux, but can boot windows up in a virtual machine if i have to
  7. but i think you may have to donate
  8. I was at a coffee shop the other day, and I got onto the wireless network there to browse the internet and other miscellaneous stuff.. Well anyways I decided i would poke around on the network and see if i could find anything interesting, but what i found was.. nothing. nothing at all but the router, despite the fact that numerous other customers were connected to the router also. It appears they are somehow isolating the individual users from each other, and I was curious how they go about doing this? The wireless router is a WRT 300N.
  9. Thank you for the reply. This should be useful and set me in the right track as far as researching this more. --Anolis
  10. to Swerve, In my opinion, it would be better to get 2 500gb drives rather than 1 1000gb drive, because in the event 1 of the 500gb drives fails, you hopefully.. will still have some stuff, instead of losing everything
  11. When running my nmap scans I came across this TCP Sequence Prediction: Difficulty=25 (Good luck!) IP ID Sequence Generation: Incremental What is TCP Sequence Prediction? How can I use it to my advantage?
  12. int time ( void ) <?php $nextWeek = time() + (7 * 24 * 60 * 60); // 7 days; 24 hours; 60 mins; 60secs echo 'Now: '. date('Y-m-d') ."\n"; echo 'Next Week: '. date('Y-m-d', $nextWeek) ."\n"; // or using strtotime(): echo 'Next Week: '. date('Y-m-d', strtotime('+1 week')) ."\n"; ?> also microtime() might be of use
