  1. follow the above but don't install the cvsup package during the system install it expects input and sometimes hangs the install then you'll have to start over. Install it later. For a smooth install just install the Developer option without X and without Gui. Then you'll have the base system from there install whatever ports or packages. But read the handbook first Why step by step instructions. and follow the above advice
  2. Why learn vi cause I can find it on 99.9% of all *nix's . it's simple and easy to use Now I think I got the hang of it now...:w :wq :wq! ^d X exit ^X^C ~. ^[x X Q] :quitbye ctrlAltDel ~~q :~q logout save/quit if thats to hard it'll be simpler to just get a rope
  3. Yeh, screamer that's insane! If I purchase something I'm doing with it what I please or see fit. Forget there rules or they should stop selling the products and give humanity the means to make their own. Maybe one day the open source community will venture off into other technology. That will truly be a dream come for all technology being open source. Corporate, will have to accept the fact that if ppl are not happy they will seek and alternative solution that will make the happy.
  4. I do the same very often especially when using wordpad, wordperfect, notepad, or quikpad....
  5. I use postfix-cyrus-openldap-spamassasin-amavisd with enabled SSL/TLS. didn't want a default sendmail server running on my box never use it. My friend likes it quite well. qmail, too many daemon tools to play with. Maybe try it later, postfix cause is secure and easier to configure and lots of docmumentation to read. Now your turn

  14. The O'Reilly books I agree are good info for reading offline. Funny how my local B&N store always buy these mass amounts of Unix books....Hmm wonder if that because I call them many times as different ppl asking for them and then noone buys them. The last time I was there I got the O'Reilly sed &awk, perl, advance perl, an Unix in a Nutshell as one of the last chance books and they were all marked down to $5 Sweet

  19. I didn't find any info here about the National Don't Call Me LIne. I'm sure there is fun to be had on this system as well. I'm still testing it now 1-888-382-1222 is the number and there is a web site also. I sign up for it last week and decided to have some fun if I can with it. It for stopping telemarketer from calling U. and If they continue to call so a friend and I are testing it now. I sign his cell # on the list and his been calling evryday 7 times a day. I reported him last week. They R suppose to fine him so much for every call he makes to me once on the list something like $500 dollars. And if fails to pay will be brought to court but the phone is a pre-paid cellie. Just trying to see if he will be fine with his permission of course we are testing it out. Think of the fun that could be had if it works. I'll keep ya'll posted on the status of this line, peace, phun, and phreaks

  21. Yea I read it on OS news yesterday and my friend heard it on the Canada radio a hour later. Heard there is a prize of free DNS, email hosting and web hosting funny A hacker could set those service up himself freely if he really wanted to that's my two cents :2guns:

  23. Hey make your swap at least 512mb it will help when trying to cvs things. Imporant like cvs your source, packages or whatever U would what updated regularly. We'll continue to get richer off your sweat and our foot forever on your neck.
