  1. Just a link about the backlog in FOIA requests. Justice Delayed is Justice Denied http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB102/dos.htm link to info on time response requirements http://www.usdoj.gov/04foia/referenceguidemay99.htm#time apparently you can request expedited processing with certain reasons.
  2. Drive started to have trouble on booting somehow mounting partitions had errors/delays. Also I had an issue with a file in the gentoo partition. I got worried more and bought a new drive at a local store today. installed new drive as slave booted into linux distro 1 copied files from linux distro 2 into correct partition on new drive edited /etc/fstab for correct partitions because order was different on new drive. repeated last three steps again for distro 2. created a debian rescue floppy reconfigured by removing old drive and setting new drive as master booted using rescue floppy to debian distro on new drive used lilo to make a new master boot record removed boot floppy and rebooted new drive seems to work okay so far. I can try a low level format ojn old drive after more testing. Note: deleted the known bad file I had found earlier. only other file which did not copy correctly was a jpg inside the html documentation for gimp.
  3. My IDE harddisk is starting to go bad after about 2 years + of use. Today I was watching a video on HD , player locked up and things became unresponsive. (Tried again same issue at same location in video) Heard a bad sound from drive which is hard to describe. Turns out there were several sector errors in my Debian partition according to logs. Model is 60 GB MAXTOR 6L060L3 What can be done to fix if anything?
  4. you could try installing cygwin possibly. will install in a directory on top of windows XP. Then you can use linux apps like mplayer from inside windows I did it once when I still had XP installed.
  5. I randomly picked slipknot - vermillion video as a test. I do not want or have this file. In linux without a browser plugin installed you are not able to watch it in your browser but all I wanted is the URL. view the source and you find it is in mediaURL variable var mediaUrl = "http://www.mtv.com/sitewide/apps/mediaplayer/asxmaker.jhtml?clipids=1657455&site_type=music&asx_intro_slate=http://www.mtv.com/sitewide/apps/mediaplayer/swf/vb_green.swf &asx_outro_slate=http://www.mtv.com/sitewide/apps/mediaplayer/swf/vb_green.swf&section_0=bands&section_1=az&section_2=slipknot&section_3=367523&adPth=/adsetup/bands/&hasVideoIntro=true&hasVideoOutro=false&vidAd=43&x=x.asx"; all you need is a smaller URL because who wants to see the ads wget -O myasx.asx http://www.mtv.com/sitewide/apps/mediaplayer/asxmaker.jhtml?clipids=1657455 returns an asx playlist myasx.asx with the stream URL which has some authorization arguments auth and aifp Can use thiis example to save the file. mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile myvideo.wmv -playlist myasx.asx This is no faster than playing the video.

  8. Okay yes this makes a lot of sense. It is beside another IC by phillips which is also a Dual D Flip -flop. I am not sure yet on second one you mentioned. found FDS9435A at Fairchild Semiconductor. http://www.fairchildsemi.com/pf/FD/FDS9435A.html As to others Did find that Packet8 ATA uses a similar chip S13210-TK function not listed http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,11029461
  9. undernet is an IRC (internet relay chat) network. do a google search like #bookz irc or http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=%23bookz+irc read first link for more info just also be aware for most titles this is a form of obtaining copyrighted works and the ethics/legality of doing this yourself is questionable. use your own judgement.
  10. They are located on my ATA PCB.
  11. I have done some searching myself using online resources with the part numbers visible. Does anyone have info on these electronic parts listed below? S13210-TK 0417ECCAAF Phillipines (40 pins?) (Used in a pair, unknown manufacturer) TI 42AL1TK AHC74 (TI = Texas Instruments logo) F A42AF F05 9435A (8 Pins, Fairchild?) 5001C TI 3CM COCX (8 Pins,TI=Texas Inst. logo) ED 45A (Nuclear type Logo)
  12. well you could just boot the live cd, mount the DOS/WINDOWS parttition, and make the changes you needed. (provided you have write support for the filesystem used) Of course the files you needed would also be on this CD.
  13. okay no kickbacks for me as I am not affiliated with Amazon. Shipping for those interested is $3.49 from used merchant I do recommend Amazon if they have your title used. last book I purchased used myself was old. The Bell Telephone System (HB) Arthur W. Page 1941 for this I had to use the other sites.
  14. searched at http://www.bookfinder.com Over 60 million new, used, rare, and out of print books at your fingertips. just an update it is available at amazon for $25,$27 now also you can try http://www.abebooks.com/ 12,500 booksellers selling 60 million new, used, rare & out-of-print books. Unsure but both sites could both use the same database.
  15. see http://javascriptkit.com/howto/robots.shtml This file must be uploaded to the root accessible directory of your site, not a subdirectory (ie: http://www.mysite.com but NOT http://www.mysite.com/stuff/). It is only by following the above two rules will search engines interpret the instructions contained in the file. Deviate from this, and "robots.txt" becomes nothing more than a regular text file, like Cinderella after midnight. Here's a basic "robots.txt": User-agent: * Disallow: / With the above declared, all robots (indicated by "*") are instructed to not index any of your pages (indicated by "/").
