  5. thanks for the link
  6. its a funny site tho... the products i see them sell there i usually google for their schematics and sometimes find what i want or something of an equivalent...
  7. i just posted it in plain-text.info wont take long now... also tried http://www.tmto.org/ and got c0a0b7c2eaf1c1d428b5f62d199504f4 - mja2000 cheers
  8. you could do alot with this distro like add remove partitions for dual booting among other things... even has ntfs3g that lets you mount your windows partition and get full access to the win partition however it encrypts hash files before starting so its not as fun as the other distros out there... my favorite included in this distro is partimage since it could save your harddrive as an image to restore the os without reinstalling from scratch... plus you could use it to see what changes are made when you attack your 'own' box go here to get it... http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page cheers
  9. true ive been using cingular for a while now and most of their phones have usb jacks built in compared to the other phone companies
  10. been jumping around the forums and i found a few posts on bluetooth altho this topic might be deemed new school phreeking... to me phreeking is phreeking... i found a link that was intresting... heres the link http://tinyurl.com/686zg been reading more into it and found that back|track has some intresting programs bundled with the distro and found a paper by max moser http://tinyurl.com/2pgpl9 if anyone played around with this topic please post some sites or info on this... seems like even tho bluetooth headsets could cook a persons brain... people still buy them Class Maximum Permitted Power (mW/dBm) Range (approximate) Class 1 100 mW (20 dBm) ~100 meters Class 2 2.5 mW (4 dBm) ~10 meters Class 3 1 mW (0 dBm) ~1 meter i got access to one of the class 3 type and put it side by side with two cell phones with an egg in the middle damn things cooked it in about 30 minutes... 'poormans microwave' side note:the phones were for lack of a better word 'call was in progress' since the phones wont transmit enough energy when its on standby mode cheers

  14. i stumbled upon hacktv... then found my way here
  15. if the files were deleted and if you have an ide to usb cable [if you dont have one you could probbably install it on a different computer and run it as a slave] then you could use a program called 'restoration' its free i think... and if nothing was written over the deleted files on the harddrive could still be recovered even if the flags were deleted... i suggest you use the ide to usb cable approach tho... to me i think its just safer oh... install the program to a usb that way you could just run it from your usb without overwritting anything on your harddrive... good luck
  16. ive used the linux based systemrescue.iso its pretty good, but if you want to restore a specific file you could use the program restoration its free and works great... dont know tho if it would work on files deleted with the [shift+del] methode since this would leave one less flag on the hd
  17. its nice to know that one could still redbox here in the states... thought i was a couple centuries too late to try this thanks for the link

  20. Pfft, Wisconsin has nothing to do with it, you missed the key word: I keed, I keed! Seriously though, I'm sure each 911 station has to receive hundreds of non-emergency calls a year. I would say "Why dont they fine them" but I have a good guess: The bad press of just 1 person being "unsure if the shooting was an emergency and decided not to call it in since he didnt want to risk a fine". So the challenge is: Find a way to effectively stop non-emergency 911 calls what a waste of tax dollars... once i would like to go to prison since ive been paying for it

  22. No need to fiddle with any configuration files. Then, once the system is booted, you can start emerging anything you want. I think the word that I'm looking for is "convenience". Also, the new Gentoo installer sucks. I had my first experience with it today and it crashed so many times I was ready to smash my machine. The old way was time consuming but at least it actually worked. In the end the problem really was that after the system was fdisked it couldn't read the partition table. Unfortunately it never said that and just crashed. When I did it from the command-line it told me to reboot. After rebooting everything went fine until it emerged grub, then it just hung. All in all the experience was awful. Sabayon has problems too but it was nice to get started straight away and have a bunch of apps to play with. Overall I'm pretty impressed with KDE despite its CPU and RAM hungry tendencies. For my server(s) vanilla Gentoo Linux is the only way to fly. For my desktop I'm looking for a way around the bullshit and this appears to be it. just got it... surprised to see it work on one of my 'older' boxes...
  23. ive tried several linux distros hal91 knoppix knoppix-std dsl dvl back|track 2 final so far i like back|track 2 final the best for what i do
  24. another good reason to install back|track2 final or any other distros to the hd, is because the hd eats less energy compared to the cd drive well from what i observed from my laptop battery consumption...
  25. im new to linux [tried several distros] very helpfull... thanks
