Verizon disconnects electrical feed from AT&T switch in New York, resulting in hundreds of thousands of blocked calls.

Nearly a half-million calls were blocked yesterday morning after equipment was inadvertently shut down at AT&T's telephone hub for Long Island.

So verizon cut power to a AT&T MUX, and there's no backup? Seems like they'd have multiple cable routes and multiple MUX's if it's that important. Or at least put the AT&T equipment in a cage.

the post whoring isn't bad. I appreciated it actually. I like to be able to have quick replies to threads. I'm also what you would consider a post whore I suppose. I post to anything I feel I can make a usefull comment about, or anything I just want to comment on really.
