Americans can now check the web and make a 800 call whenever the government induces panic by raising the threat level -

www.ready.gov

and

800 BE READY

"Terrorism forces us to make a choice. Don't be afraid...BE READY!"

Damn...I heard a sound bite about that site on Tech TV but forgot all about it.

It reminds me of the days during the Regan years when the Army had a toll-free number where you could turn in people you suspected of spying for the Soviets:
1-800-CALL-SPY

I'd be lying if I said I never called it. :ninja:

So, who's gonna be the first to try calling 800 BE READY?
Oh wait, I'll bet someone already has. :D

"Hi. This is Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge. I'm sorry I'm not available to take your call, as I'm in a secure command & control facility buried beneath Cheyanne Mountain. Please stay on the line for informative tips on how to properly apply duct tape to your windows. It may not be as effective as hiding in a bunker under 1000 feet of solid granite, but it will give you sound peice of mind."

So, did you order the brochure?
Oh, the possibilities for graphically hacking the shit out of it.....

They have the brochure as a PDF on the website. I just downloaded it. Probably better than then giving them your name and address.....

Not too many graphics to phuk with, but I have a couple o' ideas.......the cover reminds me of a WWII Luftwaffe recruiting poster I've seen.

The people over at poltech also have stuff to say about the site:

I'm sure you've seen it already, but the graphics are soo....
50's. Reminds me of going to the post office with my dad in the
late 50's/early 60's and grabbing bomb shelter pamphlets.
