Just saw this on Security Focus: US Feds seek public input on hacker sentencing

Sick and tired of a revolving door justice system that lets hackers skate with just a few measly years in prison? Or do you think that the courts are already too hard on online miscreants who sometimes go up the creek for longer than many killers?

Apparently now, a commission has been appointed which has asked the publics advise on sentencing "hackers" - but I mean what do the general public the US know apart from what they hear in the main stream media? ;)

exactly. I posted a reply anonymously to that articale and of course was immidiately labeled "an idiot troller" because I tried to explain the difference between a criminal and a hacker.

The author even mentions "hackers killing people over the internet"...Sometimes I wish the internet would implode and suck these people in with it.

... increasingly concerned that computer criminals are getting off easy

Hmm ... This sudden concern wouldn't have anything to do with the Elcomsoft case, would it?
