I am looking to make myself a website, but im not content with paying 10 bucks a month or whatever it costs, after all free is better...so if anyone could help me with some good services, the ones i found have lots of ups and downs, some have lots of space to put stuff, but very limited bandwidth, and then some have a great deal of bandwidth, but then they slap u wit 3 megs of space on their server, so if anybody can share their past experiences with free web hosting services, id really appreciate it ^_^

3 megs isnt a big deal unless your using the site to store stuff. If your storing stuff use other sites to store and the 3meg site to host ur site.

most providers say that storing isn't allowed. But then what they understand by "storing" varies. For example one site said that if you don't have any html files in you directory, than that's considered file storing, another said that if you have files not used on your site, than that is file storing. But then I don't really want to store a lot of stuff, and I found a site that gives you 100 free megs, which is pretty good. The url is below.

I had some stuff stored on a free webhost...now they are holding my shit for ransom. Watch out for hosts that are free and then all the sudden decide they don't want to be free anymore.

Hrmm, http://envy.nu looks incredibly similar to http://0catch.com ... I use 0catch to host some of my stuff, mostly just storing things although there used to be a really crappy website there. Its been great so far. I dont get tons of spam from them either. There are the annoying pop-up adds. They charge like $7 a month to get rid of them.
