Im not a very heavy windows user, but heres what i use when i DO decide to destroy my uptime counter :)

Counter-Strike
Zmud

Thats about it. Ive heard that counter-strike runs in wine just fine. Ive never seen anything positive about zmud in wine but i have gotten it to work fine. The drm drivers for my video card(radeon 7000) have horrible performance in linux so CS dont play very well.

I am sorry, I should have said it better.
Most people use email, what email client do you use. Some use Messenging, while others use file sharing programs. What type of programs do you use, if you have time you can tell me the exact name. You can email them to me so we don't take up space on the site.
Example:
at school we use windows, I use anything from
Multimedia>winamp
Text>Word
Utilities>Hyperterminal
Text>notepad
Utilities>calculator
Text>adobe acrobat reader
Web>IE6
Utilities>Winzip
Utilities>Ez Cd Creator
Multimedia>WinDVD
Keep in mind that it does not need to be like this.
I still have not gotten any Kernel config's the only one I got was from Dual.
THANK YOU DUAL!

well, at work, I am pretty much a Microsoft Borg. We have site licenses that are out of my control, so I use MS Office for everything from email to text. I also use some telnet programs for work, mostly HOST EXPLORER, which I use all day long (remote access).

Even though we have standards, I still sneak my own preferred stuff somtimes...

FTP: SmartFTp (everyone else uses WSFTP as the standard)
WEB: IE6 (also trying mozilla this past week)
IM: AIM, MSN, Yahoo
MISC: Notepad (lots), CALC.exe, CMD.exe (;))
OTHER: Oracle, MYSQL, SQL Plus, Forte JAVA (occasionally), and some custom apps for work.

At home... GAMES, GAMES, GAMES... plus I take a lot of chances with numerous shareware apps. I find what I like to use more regularly. Lots of hacking tools and tons of storage filez (MP3, AVI, movies, etc...)

opps, edited to add all my web development stuff. I use Macromedia Dreamweaver MX and Photoshop. Photoshop sux0rs (too hard for untalented asses like me to use) so I use misc shareware/freeware apps for graphics.

The linux box is also a total test machine. I try installing tons of things. This is good experience to teach myself. When i get the hang of what I like, I will be more efficient in the future and have better preferences for a list. Right now, just general BS.

And about the linux kernal, I explained that mine was not a default, so useless to you. :(

Windows stays on my desktop because I do not trust it for server type stuffs. Linux cannot penetrate my desktop because it lacks in two important categories (games & video). OS, on with the show :

Your standard fare for the most part : IE6, Outlook Express, Windows Maedia Player 6.4 and 8, Calculator, Notepad (both of those on my start menu as most used, Office is installed, but almost never used), Visual C++ 6.

But the stuff I actually USE : Gnucleus, KaZaA Lite, eMule, RazorLAME, Exact Audio Copy, Nero, Virtual(&Nan)Dub, WinDVD, PowerDVD, SmartRipper, DVDDecryptor, BeSweet, azid, VobSub, SubRip, BSPlayer, WinAMP, X-Chat, Trillian, CloneCD, WinRAR, PaintShop Pro, PuTTY. And an avalanche of games and (console/arcade) emulators.
