HPR Coverage at FOSDEM 2014The following are a series of interviews recorded at FOSDEM 2014.FOSDEM is a free event that offers open source communities a place to meet, share ideas and collaborate. For more information see the website https://fosdem.org/2014/, where you can watch a recording of the many talks http://video.fosdem.org/2014/Jeremy Allison ~ the SAMBA projectFor some reason my Zoom H2 failed to record this interview. Based on past experience I'm more inclined to blame the operator than the device so the audio is taken from the backup recording device, a Sansa Clip. As we say at HPR, any recording is better than no recording so any strange audio artefacts are a result of that. http://en.wikipedia....#Sansa_ClipFrom wikipedia: Jeremy Allison is a computer programmer known for his contributions to the free software community, notably to Samba, a re-implementation of SMB/CIFS networking protocol, released under the GNU General Public License.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Allisonhttp://www.samba.org/~jra/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDP-11http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acorn_Atomhttp://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/6502_AssemblyLinus Torvalds interviewed by Jeremy Allison: http://www.youtube.c.../wiki/CygwinIBM to Acquire Whistle Communications: http://www-03.ibm.co...Hewlett-Packard official website: http://www.hp.comHewlett-Packard on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia....t-PackardNovell official website: https://www.novell.comNovell on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia....wiki/NovellSUSE Desktop: https://www.suse.com...sktop/Microsoft & Novell Interoperability Collaboration: http://www.microsoft...lCollab.aspxThe Google Hiring Process: http://www.google.co...rocess/European Commision vs Microsoft: chronology of the case: http://fsfe.org/acti...line.en.htmlGPL on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia....ic_LicenseCIFS, Microsoft and the Samba Team: http://www.samba.org.../097186.htmlBug 2662 - revamped directory handling code is not 64bit clean: https://bugzilla.sam...i?id=2662GPLv3: http://gplv3.fsf.org/Jeremy Allison on why Samba switched to GPLv3: http://www.fsf.org/b...ed-to-gplv3Star Fleet Scotty uses a mouse http://www.youtube.c...hY6xZWVGEJeremy working the booth.
