In this months new achitect magazine (a programming trade mag) there is an interview with Phil Zimmermann about his PGP encryption project an where it stands today in the age of government intervention.

[OT: I used to get that mag in the mail..for some reason they kept sending me free issues - probably got my name from some shareware download I got where I always mention that I'm an IT guy with 100+ computers I'm responsible for bla bla heh)

the new pgp 8.0 is pretty decent actually - much better than the 7.x version imho - good to see they're still keeping some freeware version available

you could aways use GnuPG, it is for windows, linux and others. Plus it will always be free.
Just download WinPT for it to be graphical if you use Windows
