I would have posted this earlier, but I couldn't register on this site. I never got any emails.

Anywho... this is how you work it.

1. Find a Qwest/CenturyLink phone in Steamboat Springs, CO with an 870, 871, or 875 number.

2. Call 99X-XXXX (the last 5 digits of your number)

3. Flash hook at dial tone and hang up.

Heres a recording I made of it:

Nice, thanks for pointing this out. Qwest makes it pretty hard to find their ANAC/ringback test numbers. It's 958+your last four from my 5ESS in Oregon. Most of the time, anyway. Every so often, it won't complete calls to ringback at all. I wonder if they change this every so often.

958 plus any 4 used to be an anac here, but it was changed to a "your call did not go through" recording a few years back.

The DMS-100 based systems here use 999+7 digit number. ANAC is 958-9999 across all BellAliant areas.

In New York it was 958 for ANAC and 660xxxx for ringback.

In Houston, dialing 958 leads you nowhere and what ThoughtPhreaker mentioned "958+your last four" applies to Southwestern Bell "turf".

Houston, Texas:

ANAC: NONE (one must dial 800-444-4444)

Ringback: Call Waiting method and 958+last four
