Okay i have 8 new hp proliant dl380 g7 internet servers from work and i have set up a network cloud for a future supercomputer project. I would like to do some tests with installation times of various programs when the servers are in clusters, and when they are alone in order to see if the load is evenly distributed. So basically i am looking for the largest most CPU-intensive program when it comes to installing it. any ideas on some good ones? ( i already have gnoem and KDE4 on the list). ***NOTE*** this program must run on gentoo, for that is the operating system the servers are running on. thanks!
programs that take forever to install on gentoo?

What about compiling a large amount of code and benchmarking against that? The gentoo source for example http://www.gentoo.or...en/mirrors2.xml
