Mouse pad no worky?

Hey there!
I Recently recieved a new Gateway LT20 series laptop and put linux mint on it.
Liking it so far but i just installed a but load of updates that i could get for mint and all of the suddent my mouse pad stopped working?
Any ideas?

Also bonus love to whomever can name the movie the description is referring too!

HAHA right.

Actually i was able to get it working by rolling back and not installing the human interface update. Odd thing. When i had the update the mouse pad didnt work, but i have an external one that did as well as a usb mouse... Guess no need to update the interface seeing it is working fine.

updates have broken many things on my PCs that were working fine before the updates... i can not remember how long ago the divx web player broke on my PC as i have done multiple firefox, and divx updates since it broke, and still no luck...
