For those who don't know what inumber offered, it offered a free phone number you can use for 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month. It would forward calls to your phone number, although for callers to get you they would've had to input an extension number on the phone 1st.
This site has died so I'm wondering if anyone knows of ones like it.

it does appear that there is not currently a free version... inumbr was originally craigsnumber.org - from craigslist which leads to this site http://www.numbr.com/
i see several results in google for "temporary phone number" but so far random clicking on the links only shows paid subscriptions for similar services, have not found a free replacement as of yet...
