Here's a helpful patch to screen that I just finished. Basically it changes it so it uses the x11 clipboard instead of it's own internal clipboard. Personally I find this WAY more useful. Not only for copying text to and from things like web-browsers but also for sharing a clipboard between screen sessions. You can download the release here screen-4.0.3-ulhf.1.tar.gz or if you wish to apply the patch yourself you can download just that here ulhf_patch1.tgz

REMEMBER, install with

./configure --enable-xclipboard
make
make install

now if you want to make use of it use these arguments:

-y Use alternate X display besides :0
-Y turn on X clipboard usage

Very handy! It might be a good idea to add a handler for a command line switch to revert back to the internal clipboard, though, as I know I use screen without X11 fairly often. Or, revert to internal if it fails to connect to the X11 clipboard.

Yeah, that's a good idea. So I updated it and added these arguments:

-y Use alternate X display besides :0
-Y turn on X clipboard usage

... so by default it doesn't use it unless you run:

screen -Y

Hope that works for you

That'll do it -- would you mind if I make an Arch package out of this?
