Hey all
i have just totalt change to liunx,( ubuntu on this laptop )
an i was wondering, if there is a program like cain out there that can sniff network packet.
like amsn chat, an password, an just sniff everything on the network to get a bether idea of what is beging us to?
I was lookin on wireshark,. but look realy hard to get a good use of.
so anybody that can help me?
if wireshark is the best one, then anybody got some books or anything about how to learn to use it?

lol, just install dsniff and ettercap and your be fine. Don't use backtrack, there is no point.

Cain does so many things that just one tool doesn't replace it. Sounds like what you're looking for is ettercap for ARP spoofing. Is there anything else you use it for? Autoscan-network as a good graphical network scanner.

Autoscan looks really cool, I would love to try it out. If I didn't get a 400 upon download -__________-
